Ok, so many of you may be aware our group tried to win a $50,000 grant back in January through the Pepsi Refresh Everything project. Out of 1129 organizations, we came in at 66. We needed to be in the top 10. We did amazing for our first try, considering many organizations were on their third attempt and still did not make it as far as we did. Well, we're trying again, for the second and last time. See our home page for details on how to vote.
Let me tell you what Pepsi changed this time around: they accepted ALL entries, not just the first 1,000 who could get them through at midnight. Then they randomly picked 1500 entries to review. Guess what? I received an email saying our entry was randomly drawn. What are the odds? I of course saw this as a sign. I did not however, know we were actually in the contest until the day it opened for voting. Our friends at Project Hope (who we helped win last time around) voted for us before I even voted for us! This time, in hopes of less competition, I decided to go for $10,000. That is certainly better than nothing! Well, we started the contest at #1, went all the way down to #4, then ended the night at #1 again. Yay! Oh, the biggest change in the contest: POWER VOTES!!!! Specially marked cans/bottles/2 liters of Pepsi contain power vote codes worth 5-100 votes. I found them on sale at Town&Country and bought two 24 packs and already used the votes--one was worth 5, the other 50, and those are in addition to the regular votes you get.Make sure you ask around for those power votes!
